The Maggie Scholarship Fund

Criteria

• Attend Carlynton High School as a graduating senior
  

• Be a person of good character

• Have a good work ethic and a positive attitude
  
• Plan to attend an accredited vocational, technical trade school, nursing school, community college, or 2-or 4-year college or university

                                                                            or

• Plan to use the funds to provide assistance in securing the education/training/equipment to achieve meaningful employment and carry forward the tradition of "being your best"
  
• Completion of the Maggie Scholarship application by the deadline

Selection

• The final selection of recipients will be made by a small committee of CHS graduates who serve the Maggie Scholarship Fund
  
• Four recipients will be chosen to receive a one time scholarship of $5,000
  
  

Application

• 2025 Applications are closed.  Applications will reopen February 1, 2026​

Margaret Rushnik Bunio, a graduate of Carnegie High School, was a special person who valued all forms of education and learning. It is in her honor that her son Russell (Class of 1965) and his wife Mary Bunio established the Maggie Scholarship Fund in 2015.
